Message from the Chairman
Hello Chamber Members,
As the new Board Chairman, I want to focus upon moving forward with our "new" Chamber. We are thrilled to have Erica and Addy to continue to contribute their expertise to the day to day chamber operations. They are the foundation for our moving forward with our new dynamic president, Dan Schenkein. Dan, Erica and Addy bring a revitalized spirit to the office.
Your elected Officers and Board members met in November to create a focus for 2013. In the spirit of demonstrating value for your Chamber membership, we will focus on Communication, Initiate Change, and Advocacy. It is my hope that with improved communication you will understand the extent of positive involvement the Chamber already has in the business community. Through directed and measured change, the Chamber hopes to better address the needs of the members. And by increasing our role in advocating for you, the Chamber hopes to expand our impact on the needs of the local business community.
All-in-all, my direction for 2013 is to re-invigorate the Chamber's role as a business friendly organization through a cohesive Plan of Action for 2013. We started with the Board's participation in setting our goals for 2013. Now we are revisiting the internal structure and policies of the Chamber. And thirdly, a complimentary gathering of the resources will enhance and grow our base of community activities such as Dodge City Days, our newly acquired 3i Show and new possibilities, such as the gas/oil explorations.
Through our new staff, we will focus their new energy to continue the successful programs, expand what is reasonable and explore new areas for the Dodge City business community.
