Leadership Dodge

The Mission of Leadership Dodge is to foster, renew, and sustain vital and diverse leadership in the Dodge City and Ford County areas. The sessions will focus on issues facing our community and the development and enhancement of leadership skills needed to address those issues. This program aims to bring together people from diverse backgrounds to make shared decisions for the common good of the whole community. The Leadership Dodge program will provide skills to make you a better leader at work, home, and within the community.

Leadership Dodge is designed to…

  • Identify and recruit highly motivated emerging and current leaders to participate in the program and within the community.
  • Inform, challenge, and engage participants about the opportunities and needs in and around Dodge City and Ford County.
  • Develop interpersonal relationships and build networking among the participants.
  • Encourage diverse dialogue among the participants, community leaders, businesses, and facilitators.

Program Overview and Information

In order for the Dodge City area to grow and prosper, we need leaders from all backgrounds and vocations, who will wrestle with the challenges facing our community. The Leadership Dodge program brings together a broad cross section of both acknowledged and aspiring leaders from every corner of the community for an annual community leadership training course.

The goals are to challenge and motivate traditional and non-traditional leaders by teaching leadership capacities from the Kansas Leadership Center through information, dialogue, and hands-on experience so they are better prepared to strengthen and transform our community.

In place since 1987, the Chamber’s Leadership program has over 300 alumni with many of them still living in the Dodge City area. Leadership Dodge alumni are challenged to apply their talents throughout the community in volunteer, appointed, and elected positions.

The sessions cover key community concerns in the areas of quality of life, government, crime, business and economic development, community services, education and healthcare. Woven throughout the program are the Kansas Leadership Center’s leadership competencies and leadership principles.
